What is a social media publishing API?
It lets your application create and schedule social posts programmatically. InvisibleAPI provides one publishing API for connected Instagram and X accounts, with a status for each delivery.
Which social networks can I publish to?
Instagram professional accounts and X accounts. Instagram supports images, carousels and videos published as Reels. X supports text, up to four images or one video. Other networks are not available through this publishing API yet.
Can I build a social media scheduling tool?
Yes. Set requestedPublishAt when creating a publishing job, list the jobs to display your calendar, and read their statuses to show progress. Scheduled jobs can be canceled before they are dispatched.
Do I upload media to InvisibleAPI?
No. Host your images or videos and provide their public URLs in the publishing job. InvisibleAPI fetches the media and handles the publishing steps for each platform.
What happens if a post fails?
Check the job’s delivery status and error details. Each failure has a category and code. Retry eligible failed deliveries after checking the cause. Use a consistent clientRequestId when retrying a job creation request to help prevent duplicate jobs.
How many posts can each account publish?
Each connected account can publish up to 100 posts per billing period. The limits endpoint reports the configured limit, current usage and remaining allowance. Platform rules also apply.
Can I publish through an AI agent?
Yes. The InvisibleAPI MCP server lets compatible agents work with connected accounts and publishing jobs. Authenticate with the appropriate organization API key scopes or the supported OAuth consent flow.
